Tamiya Plamodel Factory – Tokyo

If you are a modeller and is visiting Tokyo, the Tamiya offical store in Shimbashi is a must visit. Yes, they charge full retail price and other stores may have slightly better prices, but its Tamiya. They have a cafe (with models on the counter), finished models on display, Tamiya branded merchandise (bags, t-shirts, hats, jackets, etc…) and of course all current Tamiya models for sale. Complete selection of paints and yeah, the dinosaur and radio control stuff are there too. In the back, there is a track area for RC racing and in front, there is a display area for something they have created a model for – whether its a F1 race car or a WW2 German car. When I was there, it was a pair of motorcycles.

It’s the most beautiful model store I have ever been in.
