Strumtiger

  This kit was part of AFV Club entry into the 1/48th market, unfortunately after a few kits, they decided to abandon it.  The kit has no figures and did not come with zimmerit.

The kit went together pretty much out of the box, The only major addition was adding the zimmerit with some plastic putty and the included zimmert tool.  A bit rough around edges, but definitely looked field applied !

The plaque was designed in fusion 360 and 3d printed with white PLA. It was painted black and then simply sanded the paint away from the raised lettering”

The figures are from Tamiya’s Panzer maintenance set, and the groundwork was with celluclay. I’m giving up on celluclay – the warping and the shrinkage is just too much to deal with. The grass is a mix of static grass applied with a static applicator, quite haven’t go that bit down yet.  The only addition really was the hoist made with spare thin medal and some wiring. Painting was done with Tamiya acrylic applied freehand with airbrush. Typical weathering with oil paint wash and weather powder.
