MWD Bedford Truck – Airfix

This is one of the 3 items in the Airfix “Ready for Battle” kit featuring items during the Battle of Britian.

I’ve already built the Hurricane earlier and now finished this Bedford. The kit is very straight forward and has a bunch of build options. This includes an opened engine bay, top up or down, canvas top, and posable access door on the cargo floor. Since the engine had good details, I decided to add piping and missing details based on photos. Most of the piping were thin solder, easy to manipulate. The front wheels were also posable – wish more manufacturers did that.

The figures is modified Tamiya truck driver and an old CMK resin mechanic. I’ve also used thin steel wire to create a steel framing support for the canvas top. The fuel drum and tool set is from an ICM set. The rest of the ‘stuff’ was from my spare aircraft parts box.
